Star Citizen Free Fly — try before you commit

For people who have heard of Star Citizen but do not have an RSI account yet.

What is Free Fly?

During Free Fly events, Cloud Imperium Games often lets anyone with an RSI account download the game and fly a selection of ships for a limited time — sometimes with no purchase required.

Events are time-boxed. Outside Free Fly you usually need a game package to play permanently. Exact ships, length, and requirements change every event.

How to participate (new accounts)

  1. Create an account on the official RSI site (button below).
  2. Install the RSI Launcher and download Star Citizen when the Free Fly is live.
  3. Play during the window; decide later whether a game package is worth it for you.

Is Free Fly free forever?

No. Free Fly is a try-out window. Long-term access usually requires purchasing a game package from RSI when you decide to stay.
